Marvista partners with TelevisaUnivision to produce Spanish-language films for Vix+

FOX Entertainment’s MarVista Entertainment and TelevisaUnivision initiated a development and production deal consisting of the development of ten exclusive original Spanish-language movies for Vix+. “It is an incredible honor to be a founding creative production partner of TelevisaUnivision on the launch of ViX+,” said Film Producer at Marvista, Fernando Szew.

As part of the agreement, MarVista will produce ten original Spanish-language films across family, comedy, romance, and holiday genres that will stream exclusively on the Spanish-language streaming service, which is scheduled to launch in the second half of the year. Featuring top creative and top on-screen talent from Latin America, TelevisaUnivision will hold worldwide streaming distribution rights for all ten films produced under the deal and MarVista will oversee global distribution outside of streaming and second windows for all platforms.

The deal serves as the continued expansion of Latin America-based collaborations between the two companies, involving the production of multicultural, Spanish-language content for platforms worldwide. “MarVista and FOX Entertainment take great pride in being leaders in delivering diverse stories and premium content across multiple genres for all viewers,” Szew said. “We’re looking forward to introducing these initial ten films to what undoubtedly will be a fast-growing and leading streamer within the Spanish-speaking market.”

Recent Spanish-speaking films produced by MarVista include "Operacion Feliz Navidad" for HBO Max in Latin America,  "El Robo del Siglo," currently streaming on HBO Max in the U.S.. Last year, the title was named Best Ibero-American Film by the Cinema Brazil Grand Prize. The movie also ranks among the Top Five performing films of all time in Argentina.
