Global content producer and distributor Endemol Shine Group announced a raft of commissions in the Nordic territories for the global culinary hit series “MasterChef”.

Following a successful tenth season in Sweden, TV4 have commissioned an 11th series of “MasterChef” for 2021. Last month the season ten finale reached its highest ever ratings in “MasterChef Sweden’s” 10-year, 150-episode history with 1.4 million viewers.

Also commissioned by TV4 for a new run in Sweden is the accompanying spin-off version “After Hours,” which gives eliminated contestants the opportunity to battle it out in front of one judge straight after the main competition. Further to this, TV4 have commissioned Sweden’s first ever “MasterChef All Stars,” alongside a seventh series of “MasterChef Junior” which will air later this year.

In Norway, “MasterChef” will return to the Norwegian audience in a new home on Discovery’s TVNorge for a brand new series. To accompany the series, Discovery have also commissioned a brand-new digital extension, “MasterChef Leftovers,” (20x15’) for D-Play, that will focus on cooking with the leftover food from the challenges in the main series.

In Finland, MTV3, one of the biggest local commercial broadcasters, has commissioned the first ever series of “MasterChef: The Professionals,” which will air later this year. The channel is also the home for long-running success “Ready Steady Cook,” also produced by Endemol Shine Finland.

Lastly, in Denmark, “MasterChef” on TV3 (NENT Group) has shown some incredibly strong ratings with the current season, doubling the channel’s primetime average.

“There is a real passion for ‘MasterChef’ in the Nordics, which is demonstrated by such strong ratings across the region. The MasterChef brand continues to grow from strength to strength and it’s fantastic to see such a broad range of commissions of both the main series and the hugely popular spin-offs,”  Karin Stjärne, said CEO of Endemol Shine Nordics.
