MIAM! Animation structures its animation studio and makes key expansion hires

Sarah Teyssier-Miko and Anne Besnier are joining MIAM! studio respectively as Head of Studio and Head of Productions while Amélie Mermoud is joining the company as Head of Brands and Communication.

To support its growth, MIAM! animation is structuring its animation studio and announced the appointment of three new executives. With nearly 15 years of experience in production management, Sarah Teyssier-Miko will be leading MIAM! studio as Head of Studio. She will be in charge of consolidating the production pipeline, overseeing production management and contributing to the studio's development and financing strategy.

Teyssier-Miko will team up with Anne Besnier, Head of Productions, who will be bringing her expertise gained over almost 5 years, especially at Blue Spirit Studio then at Shards. Anne will be working more specifically on the upper preschool series "The Tinies" (52x11’ + 52x3’), for Canal+. The production will be starting in the spring of 2023 for a delivery early 2025.

MIAM! animation is also welcoming Amélie Mermoud as Head of Brands and Communication. Thanks to almost 10 years of experience in communication agencies, she’ll be using her digital and global strategies skills to promote the company and its productions. She will also be in charge of managing the licensing and merchandising exploitation of MIAM! animation’s brands.

Previously, MIAM! studio released the preschool series "Edmond and Lucy" (52x12’), an adaptation of the album collection Edmond and Friends by Astrid Desbordes and Marc Boutavant, published by Nathan. The series, commissioned by France Télévisions and HR/KiKA (Germany) was the second-best launch of 2022 on France 5 and Okoo (540 000 views and up to 22% ratings share for 4-10 years old – source France TV). "Edmond and Lucy" (52x12’) has been sold by MIAM! distribution to 28 international broadcasters including RAI (Italy), Clan/RTVE (Spain), Youku (China), MBC (MENA).

The company is also co-producing the series "Goat Girl" (52x11’), an original 2D creation for kids aged 8-12 years, with Daily Madness Production (Ireland) with whom the project originated and Thuristar (Belgium), for Warner Bros. Discovery EMEA and KiKA (Germany). The launching is expected in 2024.

MIAM! distribution is also handling the worldwide rights of more than twenty series, of all formats and for all targets, acquired from about fifteen independent French producers, including "Brazen" (30x3’30, Silex Films), "The MiniWhats" (52x7’, Doncvoilà productions, Silex Films), "Our summer of freedom" (6x26’, Darjeeling) or "Kaeloo" (188x7’ + 26’, Cube Creative Productions).
