Beta Film announced that Turkish drama “Persona”, starring International Emmy® award winner Haluk Bilginer, will return for a second season. Meanwhile, production of a French adaptation is underway. “Mémoire Vive” (4x1h) will be led by actress Clémentine Célarié (“Six Women”, “Betty Blue”, “Two Is a Family”), who plays Esther Lefevre, the reinterpreted female protagonist. Beta Film has also sold the Ay Yapim production successfully around Europe and overseas to the US, Canada, and Japan.
Produced by CaltSTUDIO for M6, “Mémoire Vive” is written by Laurent Burtin (“Astrid: Murder in Paris”), Anne-Gaëlle Daval (“Ladies”), and Hélène Lombard (“Call My Agent!”). The series will be directed by Arnaud Malherbe (“Moloch”, “Chefs”, “Rictus”), while shooting is scheduled for the first half of 2024.
For his performance in the Turkish original version as the series antihero, Agâh, Haluk Bilginer has been awarded with the International Emmy® Award in 2019. In the second season, Agâh, who suffers from Alzheimer, regains his memories piece by piece when his daughter takes him into her care. And while Agâh is looking for a way to handle his new-found freedom, he doesn't realize yet that he has made some powerful enemies who yearn for revenge. “Persona” (22x1h) is produced by Ay Yapim. Season 1 is produced for Puhu TV, and season 2 for Gain. Beta Film handles international sales for both series.
