Moonbug Entertainment announced the launch of its newest series “CoComelon Classroom,” the first live-action spinoff series from the CoComelon universe. The series blends animation with live- action, bringing to life the wholesome world and characters of CoComelon, the #1 most-viewed kids’ franchise on YouTube. The show will have fun classroom activities and catchy music, while parents can feel confident about its special focus on early English-language learning.

The series invites children to interact with a real-life Ms. Appleberry, the cherished teacher from CoComelon, who comes to life in the series with a performance by educator and 2021 National Teacher of the Year Juliana Urtubey. CoComelon viewers were introduced to Ms. Appleberry in 2019, when JJ met her on his first day of preschool at Melon Patch Academy. Ms. Appleberry quickly became one of the most loved and recognizable animated characters in the series, also appearing in “CoComelon Lane” on Netflix and the “CoComelon Live! JJ's Journey” live show.

In each episode, real-life Ms. Appleberry speaks directly to young viewers, welcoming them to the classroom made famous in CoComelon. Together, they learn, play and sing about something new – from sounding out a new word, to identifying emotions, and exploring farms or the weather – alongside familiar faces and new friends.

Each lesson features playful activities and the beloved music that made CoComelon famous worldwide. Episodes include surprises as Ms. Appleberry and special guests explore "What’s inside the Melon Learning Box?" encouraging young viewers to learn through play and spark their imagination. Special guests, including animated characters like JJ and celebrities such as Keke Palmer, join Ms. Appleberry to reveal the surprise inside the box. Viewers can also enjoy singing along to their favorite CoComelon songs in new, interactive ways with Ms. Appleberry.

With insight and input from learning specialist Dr. Natascha Crandall, reading specialist and literacy consultant Shelly Klein, and nationally recognized educator Juliana Urtubey, “CoComelon Classroom” goes beyond entertainment. The show integrates themes that are essential to early childhood cognitive, social and emotional development – like sensory processing, language development, and behavioral and emotional regulation. Each episode combines these elements with CoComelon's signature songs and relatable characters, ensuring that learning remains engaging and accessible. Juliana’s portrayal of Ms. Appleberry brings the authenticity and credibility of a real-life classroom into the show, enhancing its focus on early learning curriculum.

“‘CoComelon Classroom’ brings the warmth and learning expertise of a real National Teacher of the Year into homes everywhere, expanding access to trusted, quality educational programming for families around the world,” said Meghan Sheridan, Senior Creative Executive for CoComelon. “We can’t wait for young viewers to experience the joy and dedication of Juliana Urtubey as the iconic Ms. Appleberry, and all the delightful surprises she has in store for young viewers.”

Earlier this summer, CoComelon’s brand of early learning through play went interactive when Moonbug released CoComelon’s first learning app, “CoComelon - Kids Learn & Play.” With an expert-designed curriculum for kids aged 2-5, the app is filled with activities that support cognitive, social and emotional development – all set to children’s favorite nursery rhymes.

The series premieres on YouTube with two new episodes on September 21, with a third episode launching September 22. New episodes will launch weekly.
