The Rabbit Films original production “Over the Atlantic” has been nominated at Kultainen Venla – The Finnish TV Awards. The second season of the 8x42’ series, which airs on TV5 Finland (Discovery Networks), is competing in the “Best Reality Show” category against shows such as “Married at First Sight,” “Supernanny,” “Keeping the Nation Alive,” and “First Dates”.

The winner will be announced at the live gala, which will be held on January 17, 2020. This is the second time that the show is nominated. The previous nomination had been for the first season in 2018.

Outside of its home territory of Finland, “Over the Atlantic” has been a huge success story internationally. Denmark (Kanal 5) and Sweden (Kanal 5) have already premiered their first seasons this year, with both being in production for second series. Additionally, the Belgian version (“Vier”) is currently crossing the Atlantic, with a Norwegian version planning to follow suit shortly after. The format has also been optioned in several territories, including the Netherlands, Spain and France.

“Over the Atlantic” is a reality show where six celebrities are given a once in a lifetime challenge to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. In this groundbreaking show, a top-notch sailor is leading a team of celebrities with zero sailing experience to become masters of the sea. Week after week they learn how to sail, how to work as a team and how to fight the ocean.
