RABBIT FILMS’ “OVER THE ATLANTIC” FORMAT EXPANDS INTO BELGIUM, NETHERLANDS

The series is set to premiere on SBS6 at 8:30 pm on Monday, 9 November 2020. A third season, also produced by Rabbit Film, is due for TV5 (Discovery) in 2021.

Rabbit Films announced that Talpa TV, based in the Netherlands has commissioned a local version of Vincent TV Producties' original adventure reality format "Over the Atlantic." The series, called Alle Hens can Dek, is set to premiere on SBS6 at 8:30 pm on Monday, 9 November 2020. “We are greatly looking forward to launching Alle Hens aan Dek later this year on SBS6 and are excited of this collaboration with Rabbit Films,” Erik de Winter, Head of Acquisitions of Talpa TV, said.

In Belgium, "Over de Oceaan," the first season of the Flemish adaptation of the format is now available on Telenet’s VOD platform. Its linear premiere will be with terrestrial broadcaster Vier later in 2020. The 8 x 60’ series is produced by Woestijnvis.“Over the Atlantic has proven to be a hit territory after territory and season after season," Jonathan Tuovinen, Head of International at Rabbit Films said. "SBS6 and Vincent TV have done an incredible job making a thrilling show, not to mention entirely during these challenging times! The series is certainly going to be captivating for international viewers all over the world and will provide compelling insights into the psyche of the celebrities involved.”

The original version of "Over the Atlantic" is produced by Rabbit Films Finland for TV5 (Discovery), with the 3rd season due in 2021. Other international adaptations of the format were made in regions like Denmark, where a 3rd season is currently in production by Strong (NENT) for Kanal 5 Denmark. In Sweden a third season, produced by Mastiff, is due for premier in 2021 on Kanal 5 Sweden. Additionally, the first season is set to film in early 2021 for TVNorge, produced by ITV Studios Norway. The show has been also optioned in various territories including Germany and France.

In the seven 60-mnute episodes of "Over the Atlantic," six celebrities given a once in a lifetime challenge to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. During their time out at sea, they learn how to sail, work as a team, and fight the harsh ocean. “Alle Hens Aan Dek is an original, yet quite simple, survival show, showcasing our celebrity casts’ battle against the unpredictable sea,” Vincent ter Voert, the Founder of Vincent TV Producties, said. “They experienced an intense and beautiful journey which is both confronting and revealing on a personal level. We are very much looking forward to our audience to share and experience their epic voyage.”
