Rainmaker Content has agreed to distribute select Nordic Entertainment Group scripted Viaplay Originals.”We are a young company with an exceptionally experienced and enthusiastic sales team and know that we will do a great job for NENT Group bringing these shows to the global stage," Co-CEO and Founder of Rainmaker Content, Greg Phillips, said. "We are honored to have been entrusted with this new role."

The titles include “Big Lars,” “Thunder In My Heart,” “Two Sisters,” and “What About Monica.” “We’re pleased to work with Rainmaker to distribute some of our most exciting Viaplay Originals outside our markets,” NENT Group SVP & Head of Acquisitions, Content Distribution & Partnerships, Vanda Rapti, said. “Our storytelling is unique and it feels great to team up with a partner who is equally passionate about bold Nordic content.”

“Big Lars” and “Thunder in My Heart,” starring Swedish actress and singer Amy Deasismont, already premiered, while “Two Sisters,” based on Hannah Widell’s novels, and “What About Monica,” created by Julie Budtz Sørensen, await their debut for later this year. “As we embark on our expansion journey and bring Viaplay to 15 markets by the end of 2023, controlling global distribution rights for our Originals with innovative and flexible partnerships is a key focus,” Rapti said. “This will enable us to maximize the potential of our shows, both in Viaplay’s new markets and for third-party broadcasters and platforms in the rest of the world.”

While “Two Sisters” tells a story about sisters and best friends who begin to drift apart in search of finding their identity in the adult world, “What About Monica” showcases a 16-year-old Louise’s life as it is turned upside down when her best friend Monica is raped at a party. “Big Lars” tell the adventures of humorous adventures of Frank and Casper, while, “Thunder In My Heart,” tells the story of 22-year-old Sigrid, known as Sigge, an impulsive, frustrated, and spoiled, fed up woman whose true love has been shattered by her parents who served as terrible role-models.
