Tin Roof Media, Blink Films, and Outline Productions have announced the appointment of Rod Henwood as Executive Chairman, having previously served as Non-Executive Chairman of the private equity-owned group since 2019. The move reflects increased growth at Tin Roof, with both companies in production on a strong slate of new and returning series for an expanding client roster of broadcasters and streaming platforms in the UK and globally. Group turnover has increased strongly year on year over the past three years and is forecast to grow by 40% this year. Hours in production have increased by 20 percent over the last year with new clients, including ABC/Hulu, CBS/Paramount+, Netflix, and Discovery+.

An experienced media and digital executive and entrepreneur, Rod has held CEO and board roles with major TV companies, including most recently as COO at leading drama producer The Ink Factory (where he retains his position as a non-Executive Director). Before that, he was CEO of the UK, Belgium, and the Netherlands at Banijay (previously Zodiak Media), New Business Director at Channel 4 (where he launched 4oD/All4 and led Project Kangaroo), MD of Central ITV and of MD of Fox Kids. Andrew Green, Head of Investments at Rockpool, the largest shareholder of Tin Roof Media, said: “Rod has been working with Rockpool and the teams at Blink and Outline for the last three years, and we’re very pleased with what we’ve achieved together in that time. Stepping up to Exec Chairman is the logical next step given the progress we’ve made and the scale the business is now reaching, and we’re delighted with his commitment to the Group.”

Henwood said: “Tin Roof has had a very successful three years. Our growth is accelerating, with a significant increase in turnover, hours in production, and with a growing spread of business across multiple genres for an expanding customer base of UK and US broadcasters and streamers. We are now in a position to investigate strategic opportunities for the business, including organic growth by bringing in new business winners and new labels or through investment into the Group to support further expansion and take Tin Roof to the next stage.”

Tin Roof has added to its senior management team this year with the appointment of Laura Jones as Creative Director for Blink Films, Charisma Jones as the Group’s first Head of Legal and Business Affairs, working with Ulla Streib Group Director of Operations, and Wil Edwards to head up Outline Productions’ Welsh office. Blink’s recent credits include the BAFTA Scotland-winning "Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland" (Channel 4), "Chernobyl: The New Evidence" (Channel 4), "Tut’s Toxic Tomb" (National Geographic, Science Channel and Channel 4), "Secrets of the Oligarch Wives" (CBS/Paramount+), "Ten Steps to Disaster" (Smithsonian/Channel 5), "Ken and Barbie Killers: The Lost Murder Tapes" (Discovery+), "Fred and Rose West: Reopened (ITV), The Diana Interview: The Truth Behind The Scandal" (Channel 4), "Best of Britain by the Sea" (Channel 4), "Extraordinary Twins" (ITV), "Saved By A Stranger" (BBC 2), and "Tom Kerridge Barbecues" (Food Network). Outline is currently in production on new and returning series, including "Sarah Beeny: Breast Cancer, My Family and Me" (Channel 4), "Michel Roux’s French Country Cooking" (Food Network), "Sarah Beeny’s New Life in the Country" (Channel 4), "Sarah Beeny: New Lives in the Country" (Channel 4), with recent commissions including "Rochelle Humes: Interior Designer in the Making" (W).
