New content distribution company Screenbright Media has closed important agreements for Latin America and the US Hispanic for films like "The Night", "Lady of Guadalupe", "Paws Bones & Rock ‘N Roll" and "Boonie Bears: Blast Into the Past".

"The Night" ("Pesadilla en el Hotel Normandie") is a psychological thriller by director Kourosh Ahari, which was acquired by WarnerMedia Latin America for HBO Max. The film tells the story of a married couple, exhausted after a night out with friends, Babak (Shahab Hosseini), Neda (Niousha Noor) and their baby take shelter in the grand, but eerie Hotel Normandie. Throughout a seemingly endless night, mysterious disturbances ruin their night's rest as Babak and Neda soon realize they're locked-in with a malevolent force that hungers for the dark secrets they've kept from one another.

Andres Santos, founder of Screenbright Media, comments: “For such a well-produced film, with top-notch performances, full of shocks and a story that grabs and hooks audiences from beginning to end, I am not surprised that WarnerMedia Latin America has selected it. The film enjoys 80% approval among critics according to Rotten Tomatoes. But more importantly, 'The Night' has managed to break down geopolitical barriers by being the first US production to have a wide theatrical release in Iran in 40 years."

Another recent Screenbright achievement, in this case as consultant for Vision Films of Los Angeles, has been the distribution of the profound film "Lady of Guadalupe" ("Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe") directed and written by Pedro Brenner and starring Guillermo Iván. It was launched by Cinemex in Mexico theatrically, and acquired by Televisa and Univision. Televisa secured the exclusive rights for pay TV in Latin America and non-exclusively for its Blim platform. Additionally, the Spanish version of the film was acquired by Univision and premiered last December in the US. The English version of the film enjoyed a limited theatrical release and was recently launched on VOD by Vision Films.

Santos says: “Personally it has been very meaningful to be part of the distribution to the region of a film so representative of our Latin beliefs and faith. This film carries a very positive message, very much ours, whose message of hope becomes even more relevant in times as challenging as the one the world is collectively experiencing."

In addition, Screenbright recently closed with Univision two family feature films. "Boonie Bears: Blast Into the Past" in representation of the amazing Fantawild catalogue, which premiered on the network June 6. "Blast Into the Past" is an animation which grossed over $110m in the Chinese box office. Also, the hilarious film "Paws, Bones & Rock ‘N Roll" in representation of Mirsand Limited which aired on the network June 20.
