Thee SIC productions were nominated at the New York Festivals – TV & Film Awards 2022: “The General” and “The Good Girls Club” were nominated for best series in the Streaming Drama category, while “Star Hill” was nominated for best telenovela in the Entertainment Special category.

“The Good Girls Club,” a series produced by SIC and Santa Rita, tells the story of one of the most iconic nightclubs in town and its best-kept secrets. An edgy narrative wrapped in lust, beautiful women, mystery and fight for survival. The show recently reached the number one spot in Globoplay.

“The General,” a series based on true life events, produced by SIC and Coral Europa, tells the story of Maria Luisa, a woman who decides to challenge all the rules, confronting the Portuguese patriarchal society in the 60s to the 90s. The scandal involving her is so devastating that leaves Maria Luisa completely lonely and sentenced to pay a heavy price: to live as a woman again.

Lastly, “Star Hill” is a telenovela produced by SIC and SP Televisão that stands out for having the breathtaking landscapes of Serra da Estrela as background. This is an inspiring narrative that follows the story of Fatima, a young woman caught by a ravishing passion, while struggling to seek justice for her family.

The event brings together the world's best productions from the television and film industry. All entries were judged by the TV & Film Awards Grand Jury, a panel of directors, writers and other creative media professionals from all over the world. The nominees, from 42 countries, will be announced during the virtual New York Festivals 2022 Storytellers Gala, which will take place on April 26. The winning entries will be displayed at the TV & Film Awards winners' gallery.
