SIC's telenovelas, produced by SP Televisão, “Our Love Songs” and “Star Hill” were nominated in the category of “Best Telenovela” for the 2021 edition of the Rose D’Or Awards, being the only Portuguese productions selected for this edition.
“Our Love Songs” is a telenovela written by Ana Casaca, starring Ricardo Pereira, Joana Santos, Paulo Rocha and Maria João Bastos. This is the story of a woman who fell in love and was betrayed. She watched the man she loved becoming famous, thanks to the music he stole from her, while she was obliged to fight for her survival, away from the country she was born at.
Meanwhile, written by Inês Gomes, “Star Hill” is a rural telenovela set in the mountains, in a remote village of Serra da Estrela, where everyone knows each other and is part of a community thanks to remoteness and the hard life they have. A plot that stands out by the natural scenario and invites the audience to return to its origins through characters that portray the search for beauty, safety and the tranquility of the mountains. The cast includes names such as Júlia Palha, José Mata, Sofia Alves and Carolina Carvalho in the main roles.
