Sixteen South, Belfast-based UK kids’ independent production company, has secured new global sales for its award-winning preschool series, "Odo," produced with Letko. The 52 x 7’ hand-drawn 2.5D animation, aimed at kids aged 3-5, which is commissioned by Channel 5’s Milkshake! in the UK and on KiKA in Germany, has now flown onto over 150 territories worldwide, with latest sales including:  HRT in Croatia; RTVS and JOJ for Slovakia; YLE Finland; Radio Canada for French Canada; TVP in Poland, Truevisions in Thailand and PCCW for Hong Kong.

Colin Williams, Creative Director, Sixteen South, said: “We continue to be delighted with the global response to "Odo" and are grateful for the ongoing support of our wonderful broadcast partners at KiKA and Milkshake! With anxiety and depression levels in children at an all-time high, we are proud that our lovable little role model continues to help kids around the world develop self-efficacy and learn important life lessons.”

These latest sales join the previously announced broadcasters including Canal+ France, ABC Australia, TVO-Kids! Canada, HBOMax Lat AM, RTE Ireland, Mini Mini Poland, SVT Sweden, NRK Norway, S4C Wales, and VRT Ketnet Belgium.

The news comes as "Odo" continues to enjoy a flight of success including a publishing deal with Macmillan Books, which has seen the publication of a flock of books featuring "Odo" and his friends and a successfully launched YouTube Channel which has received over 10 million views since launch.

Series two is also flying high on Channel Five’s Milkshake! and, sees the transmission of a special double episode which finds the birdie inhabitants of Forest Camp performing a unique version of The Presidents of the United States of America’s alt rock classic “Peaches”, which has been praised by the band’s lead singer.

In ‘Rock and Roll Doodle’, the birds write their own rendition of the track to celebrate the things their beloved Camp Leader loves the most - Peaches - and they perform it with Doodle’s favourite grunge band, The Pigeons of the Upper Stratosphere when they drop into Forest Camp on their way to a nearby festival.  But will Forest Camp’s hastily assembled electrical system stand up to the job….?

Lead singer and songwriter Chris Ballew of The Presidents of the United States of America said: “Wowza! I love it!  Your animation style is fantastic! Really great combination of bright and subtle! The song parody is fantastic too! Great work!”

"Odo" follows the adventures of the littlest owl at the Forest Camp who is determined to prove that despite his size, he is every bit as capable as all the bigger birds.  The series aims to teach young children self-efficacy and to believe in themselves to help combat the troubling rise in anxiety and depression levels in today’s children. Comedic and warm, with a genuine gender-free hero, the stories also deal with important themes such as immigration, racism, respect for others, and show kids how to deal with setbacks in a meaningful way while fostering the development of social skills.

"Odo" is produced by Sixteen South and Letko and co-produced with KiKA and Milkshake! The show has been commissioned with support from Northern Ireland Screen and the Polish Film Institute.  The series is also being produced in association with Canal+ and S4C.The Exec Producers are Colin Williams for Sixteen South, Jakub Karwowski for Letko, Sebastian Debertin for KiKa and Louise Bucknole for Milkshake!
