SkyShowtime has confirmed that its original crime thriller "Veronika" has been renewed for a third season, which is scheduled to debut in 2026. This marks the first time a local original has been recommissioned across all 20+ SkyShowtime markets. The series stars Alexandra Rapaport, Tobias Santelmann, and Arvin Kananian and is directed by Academy Award nominee Mikael Håfström.
The announcement was accompanied by the release of the full trailer for the show’s highly anticipated second season, which will premiere exclusively on the platform on December 8th. Originally launched in 2024, "Veronika" quickly gained traction with audiences, establishing itself as a darkly addictive crime series. The upcoming season promises to escalate the suspense with more emotional depth, high-stakes drama, and unexpected turns.
Season two continues to explore the inner turmoil of Veronika Gren, a police officer portrayed by Rapaport, who remains haunted by her past and mysterious visions. Determined to return to her routine duties, Veronika is instead drawn into a chilling murder mystery that reaches back 60 years. As the investigation unfolds, her grip on reality begins to falter, threatening everything she has tried to rebuild. The second season features returning cast members Eddie Eriksson Dominguez and Sarah Rhodin, along with newcomers Gustav Hammarsten and Hanna Alström.
"Veronika" is created and written by Katja Juras and Anna Ströman, known for "Gåsmamman", and produced by Calle Jansson and Mathias Gruffman at Bigster. Rapaport also serves as executive producer. The first season is currently available to stream exclusively on SkyShowtime. Further details regarding the third season will be announced at a later date.
