SkyShowtime started production of its original series “Śleboda”

The series is an adaptation of the critically acclaimed crime novel “Śleboda” and is the first locally commissioned SkyShowtime original production in Poland.

SkyShowtime announced that production is underway in the Podhale region of Poland for “Śleboda”, the first locally commissioned original programming project in Central and Eastern Europe. Polish stars Maria Dębska (“Autum Girl”, “Playing Hard”), Maciej Musiał (“Klangor”, “1899”) and Piotr Pacek (“Kos”, “Sexify”) were also announced today as lead cast in the upcoming SkyShowtime original series.

Directed by Michał Gazda and Bartosz Blaschke, with Tomasz Augustynek serving as the Director of Cinematography, SkyShowtime Original Series Śleboda is based on the first installment of the critically acclaimed series of crime novels written by Małgorzata Fugiel-Kuźmińska and Michał Kuźmiński. Magdalena Szwedkowicz also serves as Producer on the series.

“Śleboda” is a six-part original series starring Maria Dębska as university lecturer Anka Serafin, Maciej Musiał as journalist Sebastian Strzygoń and Piotr Pacek as local police officer Jędrek Chowaniec. The series revolves around a young anthropology doctor from Cracow (Dębska) who flees to the mountains seeking self-discovery, only to stumble upon a dead body. She quickly becomes entangled in solving a murder mystery and finds herself crossing paths with Sebastian (Musiał), a shameless journalist on the hunt for a scoop, and Jędrek (Pacek), a local police officer, who she shared a teenage romance with. Further cast members will be announced at a later date.
