Finnish animation, publishing, and licensing studio Ferly announced international distribution company Superights will act as global distributor for preschool show “Momolu and Friends.” A co-production with Canada-based Yellow Animation and Belgium’s Digital Graphics, the Superights deal marks the continued international expansion of the Momolu brand following its other recent commissions by ITV (UK), TVOKids (Canada), Knowledge (Canada), YLE (Finland), and SRC (Société Radio Canada). The distribution deal excludes German speaking territories, Finland, Norway, Benelux, and Canada.

“Momolu and Friends” is a 2D animated series with a diverse cast of characters. It follows Momolu, a gentle, unassuming panda with a knack for stumbling into funny situations requiring his help. Each episode helps teach children how to problem-solve through art and design, manage challenges, and to work together to find solutions. The series promotes a love of arts and crafts in young audiences, applying humour while also introducing them to important socio-emotional lessons.

“The Momolu brand is designed to help young children navigate a world that is becoming more complicated, but in a way that is fun, exciting, and allows their imaginations to take them to wonderful places. We are looking forward to bringing the universe of Momolu and all of its charming stories and characters to viewers around the world. This deal with Superights allows us to continue encouraging children and families to get creative and help raise well-rounded, happy people,”  commented Laura Nevanlinna, CEO of Ferly.

Nathalie Pinguet, Deputy General Manager at Superights, said: “We are very proud to welcome Momolu and his friends to our catalogue. We have been totally captivated by the subtle, unique mix between the artistic and edutainment aspect of the programme, confirming its originality on the market. ‘Momolu and Friends’ will complete our line-up adding something fresh to our available content.”

As the latest brand extension, “Momolu and Friends” joins “Momolu Minis,” 41 episodes of short form animation visible on YouTube, Kidoodle.TV and Playkids. Also in the Momolu universe is the Momolu Learning Game, available globally on Nintendo Switch. As well as Momolu Minis Music on US children’s audio network Pinna.FM, a series of Audiobook Originals with global audiobook platform Storytel, and Momolu ebooks is available on multiple reading platforms including US-based Epic!. Also in the pipeline is a global toy range with toyco United Smile.
