“Pinches Momias,” the first scripted series under the first-look deal between TelevisaUnivision and Propagate Fuego, began filming in Mexico City. The original production will land on ViX+, the Spanish-language subscription streaming service set to launch in July. Propagate Fuego, Propagate's recently launched Spanish-language division, and Perro Azul are producing the project.

Santiago Limón and José Miguel Núñez created this action-horror-comedy series. Limón is the director and showrunner. Ben Silverman (‘The Office’) Howard T. Owens and Rodney Ferrell are the executive producers for Propagate Fuego.

“Working with Propagate Fuego and Santiago Limón on such an authentically Mexican project is truly exciting”, said Rodrigo Mazón, Executive Vice President and General Manager of ViX+. “To tap into a genre that is rarely seen, as we create TelevisaUnivision’s first Propagate Fuego series for ViX+, is a source of pride, and we look forward to audiences having the chance to experience it soon. We couldn’t think of a better first project to jump into together than ‘Pinches Momias’”.

The story of “Pinches Momias” follows a group of troubled teenagers from Guanajuato who become their town’s only hope to survive, when its renowned Mummies of Guanajuato, one of the most fascinating collections of mummies in the world, come back from the dead during the busiest week of the year. The cast includes actors Rafael Inclán, Luis Fernando Peña, Carlos Aragón and Diana Bovio alongside Xiunel Gonzalez, Daniel Abrego, Rogelio Cruz, Saak Figueroa Bórquez, Berenice Jonguitud, and Laura Wedel

“I am very happy to start such an exciting project full of young talent. It is a fun and authentic Mexican story. I hope you enjoy it and have as much fun as we have enjoyed making it", said Santiago Limón.

As part of the recently launched ViX, the largest Spanish-language streaming service will feature a premium subscription-based (SVOD) ViX+ tier with more than 10,000 hours of content, including more than 50 original series and movies in its first year. ViX is available for free on different softwares and devices.
