U&Dave announced its first original drama series, "Hit Point" (6x60’), which will also be available to stream on U. Written by BAFTA-winner Howard Overman ("Misfits", "The War of The Worlds") and directed by David Caffrey ("The Gentlemen", "Peaky Blinders"), "Hit Point" is developed and produced by Urban Myth Films ("Paris Has Fallen", "The Lazarus Project") and co-financed by CANAL+, with Studiocanal ("Families Like Ours", "Playing Nice") handling worldwide sales and distribution. The series will air on U and U&Dave in 2026.

Described as “a cop show like no other,” "Hit Point" blends high-stakes crime thriller with romantic drama. It follows detectives Leo and Bella as they navigate a dangerous West London underworld while battling the blurring lines between their professional duties and personal lives. With razor-sharp humour, heart-stopping action, and a tense romantic undercurrent, the series promises to deliver gripping, fast-paced entertainment.

Howard Overman said: “We are all excited at Urban Myth Films to be teaming up with UKTV on 'Hit Point'. It’s been a joy to create a show that blends high-octane thrills with heart, humour and a love story at its core. We have a talented crew of industry experts bringing Leo and Bella’s world to life and I can’t wait for audiences to dive into the twists, turns and surprises we have in store."

Commissioned by Helen Perry, Head of Drama Commissioning for UKTV, and ordered for U&Dave and U by Emma Tibbetts, Director of Programming, Scripted, and Hilary Rosen, Director of Commissioning, the series adds a new dimension to the broadcaster’s scripted slate. CANAL+ has commissioned the series for its global footprint across more than 50 countries in Europe, Africa, and Asia.

Helen Perry said: “‘Hit Point’ is a cop show like no other. With his singular voice Howard has crafted a tense crime thriller that’s driven by a characterful will-they, won’t-they romance. It’s a distinctive genre mash-up, full of heart, humour and action-packed sequences. It’s the perfect first scripted drama commission for U&Dave and U, and a marker of our ambition for drama on the channel.”

Emma Tibbetts added: “We’ve been wanting to make the right scripted drama on U&Dave for a long time, and 'Hit Point' hits the mark. It’s sharp, stylish, and full of twists – exactly the kind of gripping, character-led drama we know our viewers love. We can’t wait to bring it to our viewers on both U&Dave and U next year.”

Johnny Capps, Executive Producer at Urban Myth Films, said: “Urban Myth Films are proud to be making U&Dave’s first original drama. 'Hit Point' promises to be a bold, original drama which reinvents the cop genre.”

M-K Kennedy, Managing Director of Studiocanal Television, added: “Howard, Johnny and Julian are masters of heart-pounding action. It’s so gratifying to fully support them as they bring added wit and romance to the genre with 'Hit Point' and their first UKTV commission. We are delighted to continue our partnership with Urban Myth Films developing and delivering must-see series.”

U&Dave, UKTV’s free-to-air entertainment channel, has previously focused on original entertainment commissions such as "Will & Ralf Should Know Better", "Guy Martin: Proper Jobs", "Silence is Golden", and BAFTA-winning "Big Zuu’s Big Eats". "Hit Point" marks a turning point as the channel expands into drama, building on UKTV’s wider scripted successes including "Bergerac", "The Marlow Murder Club", "Outrageous", "Bookish", "I, Jack Wright", and "Mudtown".

"Hit Point" will begin filming next month, with casting announcements to follow. The series is set to premiere on U and U&Dave in 2026.
