ITV has commissioned a new series from Love Monday TV which sees Fern Britton return to ITV Daytime to present a new six-part series. "Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s" for ITV1 and ITVX follows the work of a busy team of vets and the stories of the animals they treat and their devoted owners. The series is being distributed by All3Media International.

Host Fern Britton said“Every pet has their story and every owner has theirs, so I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of this new series for ITV. Animals have always been a huge love of mine and getting a behind-the-scenes look at the incredible work the veterinary team does every day has been a privilege. Handing your pet over to the vet for any procedure is a worrying time. This series gives us a glimpse of what happens beyond the consulting room door, and is full of heart, fascinating stories, and, of course, plenty of adorable animals—I can’t wait to share it with viewers!”

Leanne Clarke, Assistant Commissioner Daytime & Entertainment ITV said“We are thrilled to be working on this most heartwarming of series with Love Monday. Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s is the perfect tonic for animal lovers everywhere, chronicling the ups and downs of our favourite furry friends under the watchful eyes of Fern Britton.”

Kerene Barefield, Creative Director Love Monday TV added“I’m really excited to be working with ITV and Petplan to bring Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s to ITV Daytime. Fern’s warmth and curiosity make her the perfect host to explore the incredible work of veterinary professionals. This is Love Monday’s move into AFP and partnering with Petplan on this series has allowed us to tell the story of veterinary care in a way that feels both authentic and informative.”

The series is Love Monday’s first move into Advertiser Funded Programming (AFP), with insurer Pet Plan partnering to bring the show to life.

“At Petplan, we are incredibly proud to be sponsoring Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s. As the UK’s number one pet insurer, our mission has always been to ensure the well-being of pets and support the people who love them. This show allows us to bring more attention to the important work that veterinary professionals do in keeping the nation’s pets happy and healthy,” commented Jo Maclennan, Director of Trading at Petplan.

In "Fern Britton Inside the Vet’s" (6x60’), ‘cat mum’ and all-round animal lover Fern 'scrubs' up and goes behind the scenes at The Grove Vets in Bristol, a small family run practice, with a big heart, providing care to hundreds of pets every week. Vet James Greenwood (Morning Live BBC, The Pets Factor CBBC) is on hand to take Fern through the range of treatments they provide; from routine vaccinations, dentistry and spays to emergency and critical care, even advanced surgery and, as Fern finds out, everything in between.

Each episode will capture the emotional journeys of owners and pets in their most vulnerable moments, the dedication, respect and love the veterinary team pour into every treatment, as well as the lengths and expense the owners are prepared to go to, for the love of their animals.

"Fern Britton: Inside the Vet’s" is made by Love Monday’s female-led team. The executive producers are Kerene Barefield and Naveed Chowdhary-Flatt, and the producer is Emily Hirst. It was commissioned by Katie Rawcliffe, Director of Entertainment & Daytime ITV and Leanne Clarke, Assistant Commissioner Daytime & Entertainment ITV.
