Fremantle Italy Group announced its new management structure. Effective 1. October, Valerio Fiorespino and Alessandro Saba are appointed Co-CEOs of Fremantle Italy Group. The CEOs of the Italian companies within the group – Fremantle Italia, Lux Vide, The Apartment, Wildside, Picomedia, and Stand By Me – will have dual reporting lines to both, while group functions will be divided by area of expertise. Fiorespino and Saba will both report to Andrea Scrosati, Group COO and CEO Continental Europe.

Valerio Fiorespino worked for many years at Rai, where he held, among others, the roles of Director of TV Resources and, twice, Director of Human Resources. He later served as Department Head at Istat, Chief Corporate Officer at Sparkle (a Tim Group company) and General Manager of LUX Vide. Since April 2024, he has been COO of Fremantle Italy Group, and since last December he has also been serving as interim CEO.

Alessandro Saba has worked for both Italian and international broadcasters across Free-to-Air, Pay TV, and Streaming, producing scripted, unscripted, and factual content. He joins Fremantle from The Walt Disney Company, where he was Head of Original Productions and contributed to the launch of Disney+ in Italy. Previously, he was Vice President at FOX Networks Group, overseeing Fox Channels and the Programming, Production, Acquisitions, and Research teams. From 2001 to 2016, he was an executive at Mediaset, first as Head of Prime Time and later as Head of Content for Italia1. Throughout his career, he has worked on highly successful and critically acclaimed productions such as Zelig, Amici, Le Iene for Free-to-Air TV, and I Leoni di Sicilia, Le Fate Ignoranti, and Avetrana for streaming platforms. With The Good Mothers, he won the Berlinale Series Award (Golden Bear) at the Berlin Film Festival. Most recently, for Disney+, he collaborated on the production of Paolo Genovese’s Italian box office hit FolleMente.

Andrea Scrosati, Group COO & CEO Continental Europe, praised the trajectory of both executives: “Valerio and Alessandro are two executives of extraordinary experience, competence, and vision, and the Fremantle companies in Italy could not have found better leadership. I want to thank Valerio for the excellent work he has already done on an interim basis over the past few months, and I am truly delighted to welcome Alessandro to our group," commented.

Meanwhile, Valerio Fiorespino, Co-CEO, Fremantle Italy Group, expressed gratitude for the new challenge: “I am pleased to take on this important role and grateful for the trust placed in me. Fremantle is an extraordinary company, capable of producing world-class content, and I am certain that Alessandro’s arrival will enrich its vision, supporting the authors who are part of our creative ‘family’. The coming years will undoubtedly bring both challenges and great opportunities," noted.

Finally, Alessandro Saba, Co-CEO, Fremantle Italy Group, expressed his gratitude for the trust: “It is a great pleasure to join the Fremantle Group and work alongside Valerio Fiorespino in this new adventure. I thank Andrea Scrosati and the Executive Committee for this opportunity. I have always seen Fremantle as a home for creativity and innovation in the service of high-quality content production, both scripted and unscripted – a fertile environment for the creative freedom of directors and writers. I cannot wait to start working with the excellent managers and the extraordinary talents of our team." stated.
