Viacom International Studios (VIS) closed an agreement with the renowned Spanish producer El Deseo for the co-development of this new series of eight episodes.

Viacom International Studios (VIS) announced a co-development deal with renowned production company, El Deseo, for “Mentiras Pasajeras” (“White Lies”, 8 eps. x 30 min).  The production company, owned by brothers Pedro and Agustín Almodóvar, will co-develop the series with VIS under the direction of Spanish screenwriters Nerea Castro and Blanca Andres Gomez.

El Deseo is one of the largest production companies in Spain and a point of reference for the industry when it comes to television and film production. Created in 1985 under the direction of renowned director, producer, and screenwriter Pedro Almodovar, El Deseo has produced critically acclaimed nominated and Oscar® winning titles including “All About My Mother” and “Talk to Her”, and most recently “Pain and Glory”, which was nominated for an Oscar® for Best Foreign Language Film, and Best Actor for Antonio Banderas in 2020.

VIS is also collaborating with El Deseo, RTVE and Movistar for new film Snow in Benidorm written and directed by Isabel Coixet.  The production began filming January 20th in Benidorm, Spain and stars Timothy Spall, Sarita Choudhury, Carmen Machi, Ana Torrent and Pedro Casablanc.
