Wild Bunch TV boards Dutch dramedy "Messed Up" from Topkapi Films

The Paris-based global distribution company will cover rights in the rest of the World except The Netherlands where NPO has the First window. "Messed Up" is produced by Topkapi Films, in coproduction with BNNVARA (NPO). Season 2 is currently in production.

Wild Bunch TV has boarded for worldwide sales the comic series "Messed Up" ("OT Bodem") from Dutch production company Topkapi Films ("Instinct", "The Girl Who Learned how to kneel", "Childhood Dreams"). The Paris-based global distribution company will cover rights in the rest of the World except The Netherlands where NPO has the First window. "Messed Up" is produced by Topkapi Films, in coproduction with BNNVARA (NPO). Season 2 is currently in production.

In "Messed Up", we follow Cat, a thirty-something with a self-destructive behavior. With her best friend Yana, doing drugs and drinking hard in clubs before having unprotected sex with strangers is a regular Monday. Until Yana falls pregnant and leaves Cat to her demons. Now on her own, Cat will have to face a never addressed grief if she wants to come back to the surface. 

The creator of the 6-part dramedy is Eva Crutzen. She wrote and directed the series and also plays the lead role of Cat. Messed Up won a Golden Calf at the Dutch Film Festival and was nominated for the prestigious Nipkow Award this year.
