ZDF, NUCLEUS MEDIA AND 3ZERO2 ANNOUNCE NEW CO-PRODUCTION

ZDF Enterprises, Nucleus Media Rights and 3zero2 announced a new co-production deal for “Body of Water,” a 8x50’ crime drama created by award-winning writer-director Brendan Foley on an original concept by Fabio Resinaro (3Zero2). Foley will write and serve as showrunner, while the producers will be Piero Crispino (3zero2) and Bruno Zarka (Nucleus Media). Production is expected to start in 2021, shot in Venice and London, for a release in late 2022.

Two bodies, one man, one woman, found three years and a thousand miles apart. Both with mysterious markings on their skin. Both found in water, yet suffocated, not drowned. One in London’s River Thames; one in the canals of Venice. Neither ever identified. “Body of Water” follows a male British detective obsessed with his unsolved river murder as he searches for similarities in the Venice death, while butting up against a young Italian female investigator, determined to make a name for herself by solving the case alone. As they are forced into an uneasy alliance by each new clue, their cases crisscross across Europe, gradually pointing towards a cult that seems more rooted in myth than modern reality.
