A total of $3.1M will fund nine projects through the second round of funding of the Francophone Minority Program and a further $3.4M will be invested in the production of 18 projects through the Diverse Languages Program.

FRANCOPHONE MINORITY PROGRAM

The Francophone Minority Program supports productions which reflect the realities of living in French-language communities outside of Québec. Funding under this Program is open to Canadian, French-language projects produced by companies based outside of Quebec.

The CMF will provide over $3.1M in funding to four Children’s & Youth projects, three Documentaries, one Drama series, and one Variety and Performing Arts project. Two of the projects are from Manitoba, one is from New Brunswick, two from Nova Scotia and four from Ontario.

Including this round of funding, since 2010, CMF has invested more than $101M in 249 French-languages projects through the Francophone Minority Program.

DIVERSE LANGUAGES PROGRAM

An investment of $3.4M will support the production of 18 projects through the Diverse Languages Program, which supports productions reflecting Canadian diversity by funding projects in languages other than English, French or Indigenous languages.

One of the projects is in Cantonese, five in Italian, one in Mandarin, one in Persian, one in Portuguese, three in Russian, two in Spanish, two in Tagalog, one in Ukrainian and one trilingual project in Hindi, Urdu and Punjabi.

Audiences will enjoy four Children’s & Youth projects, ten Documentaries, three Drama series and one Variety and Performing Arts project. Including this round of funding, since 2010, CMF has invested more than $23.8M in 109 diverse languages projects.
