North American OTT television episode and movie revenues will reach US$107 billion in 2028, up from US$74 billion in 2022, according to new data from Digital TV Research. The United States will contribute US$30 billion from the US$33 billion additional revenues, with Canada supplying the rest.
The “North America OTT TV & Video Forecasts” report also notes that most of the region’s growth will come from AVOD platforms. In fact, North American AVOD revenues will increase by US$27 billion to US$43 billion.
“North American SVOD revenues will increase by only US$6 billion between 2022 and 2028 to US$58 billion. There will be a notable slowdown from 2023 mainly due to Netflix’s hybrid AVOD-SVOD tier lowering its ARPUs,” commented Simon Murray, Principal Analyst at Digital TV Research.
