After just six months as Country Director for Prime Video in Germany, Kaspar Pflüger has decided to depart Amazon “to pursue other opportunities.”  Pflüger was in charge of overseeing the SVOD platform’s operations across Germany, Austria and Switzerland, reporting to Barry Furlong, Amazon’s VP of Prime Video in Europe.

A well-known and widely experienced executive in Germany, Pflüger joined from broadcaster ProSiebenSat.1 in April of this year and was in charge as Amazon unveiled a slate of originals for 2022/23 last month. The local offer includes comedy show “LOL – Last One Laughing,” produced by Constantin Entertainment, as well as Fremantle’s “We Children of Bahnhof Zoo.”

Announcing his departure on social media, Pflüger wrote: “Goodbye Amazon. I have had an incredibly inspiring and insightful time at Prime Video. It is been really eye-opening to discover an industry that I thought I knew so well, from a totally different perspective.”
