Starzplay and Newen Distribution have reached a license agreement for premium crime series DNA for French-speaking and German-speaking Europe and Spain. “We are extremely proud to build a new partnership with Starzplay and to bring this very unique crime series to the European Starz audience,” Nadia Chevallard, Head of International Sales, said.

"DNA" was created by Danish writer Torleif Hoppe, and produced by Nordisk Film Production in collaboration with France’s Frenchkiss Pictures and co-produced by TV 2 Denmark, Arte France, and Warner Bros. International Television Production Danmark.  “I am delighted to work with Newen Distribution and bring ‘DNA’ to our Starzplay audience,” Superna Kalle, Executive Vice President, International Digital Networks, Starz, said. "With a complex and gripping story, this is just the type of programming our audience craves and it aligns perfectly with our curated selection of content.”

The cast includes various well-known creatives, such as Oscar-nominated British actress Charlotte Rampling "45 Years" and "Broadchurch," Poland’s rising star Zofia Wichlacz, renowned Danish actors Anders W. Berthelsen from "The Killing," Nicolas Bro from "The Bridge" and "The Killing,"  and Olivia Joof from "Perfect Places."

The eight 45-minute series tells the story of Rolf Larsen, a respected detective on the Copenhagen police force, whose baby daughter goes missing. Five years after the tragedy, a new lead emerges when a serious flaw is discovered in the Danish police's DNA database. Realizing that his daughter may still be alive, Rolf tries to find out what happened to her by investigating a parallel case with ties to an international child trafficking ring.
