During another edition of the NATPE V-Fronts event, Turkish television channel ATV presented its latest drama, “For My Family,” about the newly orphaned four siblings’ survival story in a dog-eat-dog world. The presentation, entitled “A-talks - Exclusive Launch of ‘For My Family’," was hosted by ATV’s executives Müge Akar and Emre Görentaş, and was attended by the cast of the series.

“I believe people are going to like this series, as it has all the necessary elements for local and international markets,”  assured Görentaş, Content Sales Deputy Manager at ATV. “‘For My Family’ es being broadcasted on Saturdays’ primetime. The Turkish market is really competitive. Even though, this series turned out to be a great success, improving its slot performance. This is a very sincere and warm family drama,”  added Müge Akar, also Content Sales Deputy Manager at ATV.

In the story, by their lonesomeness with nearly no one to take care of them properly, the orphans still manage to be strong and stay together, as the lone wolf dies but the pack survives. The plot will elevate by time, and the rich will be poor and vice versa, unexpected romantic relationships will arise, and faith in humanity will be restored.

“For My Family” has been on television on Saturdays since February 20. Although the viewers are prone to watch lighter drama series or formats on Saturday’s primetime slot, this show, which is presented from the producers of “The Ambassador’s Daughter,” managed to shake the rankings as a newcomer.

By now, the show is not only a success with its views on screen, but also each trailer of the upcoming episode gets an average of more than 4 million views on YouTube. Moreover, the eyes on social media have drastically headed towards the leading actors and actresses, and their personal accounts get more followers by each day.

During the presentation, Halit Ozgur Sari, Fadik Sevin Atasoy, Celin Nelcakan, Burcu Yazgi Coskun, Onur Seyit Taran, and Ahu Yagtu, the series’ main actors, described their characters and explained why this is such a relatable story, not only for its local audience, but also for the whole world.

“I do not think there has been such an intimate story on TV for a long time. There was no project that we could sit with our family and watch both laughing and getting sad at times,”  Coskun said. “I think our audience is divided into two: those who want to watch family bonds and intimate fraternity, and those who want to watch school scenes, because the show also addresses the youth,”  she added.

“I clearly believe that the reason why Turkish TV series are accepted worldwide is their sincerity. The emotion and sincerity of all the people who make these series make them more real and watchable,”  Nelcakan commented. “Many people watch our shows and feel like they are not from another country. We are universal because we are unique in the way we express emotions,”  Atasoy completed.
