The third edition of the South International Series Festival, taking place from September 12 to 17, 2025, in Cádiz, reaffirms its strong commitment to Andalusian talent with a program rich in identity, local roots, and creative ambition. "Sur" (South), the festival’s signature section, once again highlights stories told from and by Andalusian creators. This year, the program includes "Invisible", distributed by Disney+, which tackles bullying.

The festival also continues its support for Andalusian talent with the announcement of the selected titles for "Andalucía South Boost", an initiative aimed at developing and promoting fiction series in progress, with the goal of strengthening Andalusia’s audiovisual value chain.

"Invisible" will be featured in the "Sur" section. Directed by Paco Caballero and distributed by Disney+, the series is produced by Áralan Films and Morena Films. It joins previously announced titles like Cuando nadie nos ve, El antivlog, and Las Tres Mil celebran la vida. Based on the novel by Eloy Moreno, "Invisible" tells a gripping story about school bullying from the silent perspective of a 12-year-old boy named Capi, who suffers from severe PTSD after a traumatic event. Neither his school, friends, nor family know what happened. Only his psychologist is willing to dive into his story and uncover the truth. As trust develops, Capi begins to reveal that he has the power of invisibility and that his nightmares involve monsters and a dragon chasing him. The series qualifies for the "Sur" section due to its Andalusian production by Áralan Films.

The "Andalucía South Boost 2025" program underscores the festival’s dedication to fiction series in development created in Andalusia with international potential. Five projects have been selected: "La última paloma", a police thriller by Luis Lloret and Nacho Lacasa, produced by Guion Alto and Capitán Araña, based on the novel by Men Marías, "Postparty", a dramedy by Celia de Molina, co-produced with LaMamma Producciones, "Correos y telégrafos", a rural comedy in mockumentary format, written by Jacobo Palomo and produced by La Filmahora, "Justa y Rufina", a period drama with a millennial perspective, created by Olga Navalón and Candela Cruz, produced by Azul Roto and "El cantante", a historical musical biopic about Miguel Ríos, written by Jorge Naranjo and produced by Nana Films.

All five projects will participate in pitching sessions with industry professionals and compete for the Best Project Award and a Special Mention—both designed to support professional growth. The initiative is supported by both public and private institutions, helping to strengthen the Andalusian audiovisual industry.

This September, South International Series Festival will once again turn Cádiz into a cultural and television hub, hosting events across its 2025 venues: Gran Teatro Falla, Teatro del Títere, and Palacio de Congresos. In addition to the previously announced titles and others like Corbeaux (Canada), What It Feels Like for a Girl (UK), and El Centro (Movistar+), the festival remains committed to Andalusia and Cádiz, reinforcing its mission to give visibility to southern stories.

This edition introduces the "Ciudad de Cádiz" Award, presented by a citizen jury composed of representatives from the carnival, university, and local creative sectors. The award aims to strengthen the bond between the festival and the city by recognizing works that stand out for their artistic and social value, as well as their ability to foster dialogue between generations and cultures. Press, industry, and student accreditation is now open on the festival’s official website, www.southseriesfest.com, until September 8.

Produced by Womack Group, the 2025 edition of South International Series Festival is supported by Cádiz City Council and Cádiz Provincial Council as official entities. Mediterráneo Mediaset España Group is the Media Sponsor; Port Authority of the Bay of Cádiz is a Sponsor; and The Writers Guild Foundation and the Vice-Rectorate for Sustainability and Culture of the University of Cádiz are partners.
