From November 20 to 22, a new edition of the MIP Cancun convention will take place at the Moon Palace Resort hotel in the Mexican city. The market offers a unique experience of pre-scheduled 1-on-1 meetings with international content distributors and TV buyers from the Latin American and US Hipanic markets.

Among this year's keynotes, the highlights are the presentations of Erik Barmack, a former Netflix’s executive who now runs his new Wild Sheep Content company; Patricio Wills, President of Televisa Estudios; and Alberto Ciurana, General Director of Content and Distribution of TV Azteca.

Another important component of the program will be the “Insight sessions”, which will explore financing possibilities, law and current trends in the field of international content development. During these panels, topics such as “The role of the showrunner in Latin America” or “Innovation in premium storytelling” will be discussed.

MIP Cancun will also offer close sessions, a strategic moment to receive programming and production briefs directly from senior TV executives from industry-leading companies. Here, attendees can have conversations with executives of companies such as Turner, Movistar, Vice, Telemundo, Viacom, and Hemisphere, to name a few.

Two big productions will be part of MIP Cancun’s screenings: “Orphans of a Nation”, from Brazil’s Globo; and “A Miracle”, the Turkish adaptation of “The Good Doctor”, distributed by Madd Entertainment.

Lastly, MIP Cancun 2019 will also offer some special events, like the Entertainment Formats Pitch of MIP Cancun and All3Media, the WAWA Networking Mentoring Breakfast and some other diverse networking events.
