The prestigious International Emmy Awards held one of its Semi-Final Judging rounds in Madrid on Monday, September 8. Hosted by Inside Content for the sixth consecutive year, the judging session brought together a distinguished panel of fourteen renowned global and Spanish audiovisual executives to evaluate entries in the Best Performance by an Actress category.
This year’s jury included professionals from a wide range of disciplines within the audiovisual industry, among them: Laura Abril, EVP of Scripted and Global Business Development at Buendía Estudios; Ricardo Carbonero, Director at Amazon Prime Video; Almudena Amor, freelance actress; Alejandro Gil, Casting Director and Founder of Lane Casting; José María Irisarri, President of Onza Partners; Pedro Uriol, Producer at Morena Films; Alejandra Saba, Head of Content at Zeta Studios; Jorge Pezzi, Director of Fiction and Entertainment at Movistar+; Susana Herreras, Original Fiction Production Content Manager at Movistar+; Mar Diaz, Executive Producer at Radio Televisión Española RTVE; Daniel del Casar, Screenwriter at Atresmedia TV; Tonucha Vidal, Casting Director at The Mediapro Studio; Sara Fernández-Velasco, CEO of Izen; and Alejandro Marín, freelance director.
The Semi-Final Judging is a key stage in the International Emmy Awards competition, where entries from around the world are evaluated across various categories. Nominees will be announced in September, ahead of the International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York City on November 24.
Inside Content, the company behind acclaimed events such as "Conecta FICTION," "Conecta FICTION & ENTERTAINMENT," "Conecta DIGITAL," and "ONSeries," has previously hosted Semi-Final Judging rounds for Short-Form Series in 2020 and 2021; Non-Scripted Entertainment in 2022 and 2023; and Best Performance by an Actor in 2024.
The judging session was overseen by Derek Nguyen, Director of Emmy Judging at the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. It was hosted by Inside Content and its CEO Géraldine Gonard, with the support of Chloé Samaniego, Cultural and Audiovisual Attaché at the French Embassy in Spain, and Simond de Galbert, Counselor for Cooperation and Cultural Action at the French Embassy in Spain and Director of the French Institute of Madrid.
