ProColombia, the entity that groups together Colombian content producers, began the 2021 with a very active participation in the audiovisual markets. During January, the entity was present at the virtual edition of Natpe Miami where it supported 21 Colombian production companies. Currently ProColombia is attending Kidscreen with its own both where 10 animation studios exhibit their content. "Our goal is to give all attendees a chance to Interact with Colombian studios and appreciate their latest content, as well as promoting the production services offered by Colombian studios whose capabilities and infrastructure meet International standards," said Ricardo Pedroza, Director of the Office from the United States for ProColombia in a chat with Señal News. “Animation studios have improved their offering in art, design, technology, story-telling, and creativity. We have been participating in this fair for several years and we believe that we are increasingly solid to present the Colombian offer to customers attending Kidscreen,” he added.

Among the Colombian studios that show their projects on Kidscreen are Areavisual; La Mar Media Lab; Signs Studio; Zincotools; Lanzcom Studio; Marañacos Study; Yellow Light Bulb; Team Toon Studio and 3dados Media. "These companies will be present with their offering for the development of children's animation, with a great commitment to their content, development in 2D animation, music production, design, storyboard, among others," Pedroza completed.

During Kidscreen ProColombia also promotes the industry incentives currently available in Colombia for the audiovisual industry, such as the Cash Rebate 40% -20% (the return of 40% in costs associated with production and 20% in logistics costs) and the CINA, a certificate of tax discount for 35% credit in audiovisual services of production and logistics costs, which impact both local and international entrepreneurs. HARD WORK
Procolombia has been committed to the internationalization of Colombian content for many years and so far there are many achievements made by Colombian companies. “In 2020 we supported 30 companies to reach new markets, being a challenging year for audiovisual productions and it is estimated that the business ranged close to 40 million dollars. Markets include the United States, Canada, Spain, United Kingdom, and Mexico,” said Pedroza.

Regarding the Colombian productions that are promoting the most internationally, Pedroza pointed out that they try to impact in the same way all the companies that use ProColombia's services. “We have had the great fortune in supporting Colombian productions that are licensed abroad as well as international productions that chose Colombia as their production location. If we were to talk about the genres that are being produced the most in Colombia, we could say that there is action, drama, comedy, and television documentaries and thrillers such as ‘El Robo del Siglo’ ," he indicated.
