MIP Cancun 2024: Banijay Iberia's CEO Pilar Blasco to inaugurate the market

Banijay Iberia's CEO Pilar Blasco to give the opening keynote at the 11th edition of MIP Cancun. The market is set to welcome back up a community of up to 1,000 delegates from over 40 countries, spanning buyers, producers and distributors from global studios and major players internationally and from across the Americas to the world’s largest production hub for Spanish-language content.

As CEO of Banijay Iberia, Blasco oversees production labels and creative talent spanning Madrid, Barcelona, Galicia, and Lisbon including Cuarzo Producciones, Diagonal TV, Endemol Portugal, Gestmusic, Shine Iberia, Tuiwok Estudios and Zeppelin Television. Her  opening keynote will take place on 20 November at the Moon Palace Hotel’s Cancun Theater.

Banijay Iberia also collaborates with DLO Producciones, creator of scripted titles such as "Ni una más" and "Las largas sombras"; and has entered partnerships with high profile talent with strong global reputations including Pokeepsie Films, the company founded by Álex de la Iglesia and Carolina Bang, and Galician production company Portocabo. Recently, Blasco reached an agreement with LALIGA to create LALIGA Studios, leading to the creation of Banijay Sports; and is responsible for the creation of a Young Adult division, behind both anime series and executive production of the Spanish version of SKAM.
