Mipcom 2023: Atresmedia secures global deals for various series and formats

The company has reached a pre-sale agreement with HBO Max for the broadcast of "Vestidas de Azul" and Season 2 of "Veneno" in Portugal, Baltics, and Nordic countries, while continuing the negotiations for other territories.

Atresmedia has already reached a pre-sale agreement with HBO Max for the broadcast of season two of "Vestidas de Azul" in Portugal, Baltics, and Nordic countries, while continuing the negotiations for other territories.

Among the agreements made at the global event is associated with "Vestidas de Azul," translated as "Dressed in Blue," which will be available in Canada and Switzerland thanks to another pre-sales agreements with local operators, while "La edad de la ira"(The Age of Anger), an atresplayer’s original series, continues its successful international journey. The fiction will arrive in Portugal and Switzerland through the channels SIC and RTS, respectively, following its success in France, Italy, and Belgium. The return of Carmen Arranz's academy continues to reap international success. UPA Next also an atresplayer's original series, will be available in Portugal on one of the main global SVOD platforms, as well as it will be broadcasted on a linear channel.

"El Desafío," one of Antena's most successful original formats, also shined at Mipcom. The Spanish version will be available on free-to-air several channels in Central and South America thanks to an agreement with Albavisión Group. "Las Noches de Tefía" (Nights in Tefía), winner of the Diversify TV Awards at Mipcom 2023, the series "Déjate Ver"  (Show Yourself) and"Camilo Superstar" have been the new titles that have received more interests from buyers during the market.

For the season 2 of the acclaimed series "Veneno", will premier in December on atresplayer, but has already begun its international tour with success. Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi repeat as producers in this continuation of "Veneno," produced, once again, by Atresmedia TV in collaboration with Suma Content. Atresmedia has closed pre-sale agreements for the broadcast of "Vestidas de Azul" (Dressed in Blue), on HBO MAX in Portugal, Baltics, and Nordic countries. Atresplayer's original series will also be available in Canada and Switzerland after its sale to other operators.

In addition, "La Edad de la Ira," an atresplayer's original series starring Manu Ríos, can also be seen in Portugal and Switzerland on the channels SIC and RTS, respectively. This operation joins the agreement reached a few months ago with France TV, RAI and RTBF for its broadcast on public channels in France, Italy and Belgium, as well as the one reached with TelevisaUnivision for include "La Edad de la Ira" in the United States and Latin America, into the SVOD platform, VIX. "La Edad de la Ira"; (The Age of Anger) is produced by Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Big Bang Media (The Mediapro Studio) and Masficción.

After the deal struck less than a year ago with Groupe M6 to broadcast "UPA Next"in France, and after its arrival in Belgium on RTL and in Canada, the return of UPA can be seen in Portugal both in free-to-air and pay TV thanks to an agreement with one of the main global SVOD platforms, as well as with a linear operator in the neighboring country. "UPA Next" is an original production of  Atresmedia Televisión in collaboration with Globomedia (The Mediapro Studio). "Un Paso Adelante" (One Step Forward), a series of Antena 3, has gone down in history as one of the pioneering Spanish fictions to succeed outside our borders, reaching broadcast in more than 60 countries, will now be dubbed into Italian after the agreement reached with Netflix.

Among other agreements, it also highlights the arrival of "La Cocinera de Castamar" (The Cook of Castamar) to the United States via HITN and to France on the tv channel Cherie 25 (NRJ), after the great success of the fiction on Antena 3 in Spain and globally through Netflix. "Las Noches de Tefía" (Nights in Tefía), atresplayer's original fiction created and directed by Miguel del Arco, has received great interest from several operators in Europe and North America. In addition, the series has won one the DIVERSIFY TV Awards in Cannes as Best Scripted in the LGBTQIA+ category. In Spain, the series and its cast have received no end of recognition: its star Patrick Criado has just been recognized with the Ondas Award as BestLeading Actor, one of the most prestigious awards in the Spanish audiovisual industry. The series is produced by Buendía Estudios Canarias with the participation of Atresmedia TV.

On the other hand, "Déjate Ver," an Atresmedia Televisión production in collaboration with Buendía Estudios, another atresplayer series created by International Emmy nominee Álvaro Carmona, has also sparked interest among Cannes buyers. As has "Camilo Superstar" (a Buendía Estudios Canarias production with the participation of Atresmedia Televisión), the fiction that tells the great adventure starring iconic singer Camilo Sesto to bring the musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" to 1970s Spain. The series will premiere in Spain on atresplayer on November 19 and there have been many operators interested in it for broadcasting outside our borders.

Also noteworthy are the arrival of the six-episode thriller "Campamento Albanta"(Albanta Camp) (an Atresmedia Televisión production in collaboration with Lucky Road) and the eight-episode comedy "Benidorm" (an Atresmedia Televisión production in collaboration with Plano a Plano) in Latin America following its sale to Flixlatino.
