Sportel Awards 2022 announced that it has succeeded in bringing together for this year’s edition a line-up of outstanding high-level champions from a wide range of disciplines.

Sportel Awards 2022 announced that it has succeeded in bringing together for this year’s edition a line-up of outstanding high-level champions from a wide range of disciplines. Champions of yesterday, today and tomorrow will come together at the Grimaldi Forum Monaco from October 22 to 24 in a convivial atmosphere to honor the greatest sports moments of the year and the most beautiful images through the Georges Bertellotti Golden Podiums and the Renaud de Laborderie Sports Book Prize.

Noémie Allabert is back in Monaco with her second world champion title in powerlifting won last June, who achieved a new world record. Marie Bochet, one of the best paralympic champion skiers with her eight gold medals, has also confirmed her presence, as well as Kilian Bron, the French enduro/freeride phenomenon, or the German Francesco Friedrich, four times Olympic champion and thirteen times world champion in bobsleigh.

Moreover, ice dancing is extremely well represented this year with the presence of the greatest champions. After winning their first Olympic title in Beijing in February, Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron will come to the Principality of Monaco with their fifth world title, won last March. Olympic and World champion Gwendal Peizerat and two-time European champion Nathalie Péchalat, former President of the French Federation, will also grace the red carpet for the Awards Ceremony on October 24 at the Grimaldi Forum.

Fight sports will be honored with champions from all categories, including Georges St-Pierre, the MMA legend and President of the Jury, and Ciryl Gane, winner of the UFC Paris main event. Boxers David Papot and Souleymane Cissokho; Sarah Ourahmoune, the most medalled French boxer; and Karim Ghajji, fifteen times world kickboxing champion; the karate champions Laurence Fischer and Anne-Laure Florentin; the wrestler and world vice-champion Koumba Larroque, who will come with her new World medal won a few days ago in Belgrade, as well as many other champions, have also confirmed their participation.

Other personalities attending include: Marie Patouillet, vice-world champion and Paralympic medallist in track paracycling; the recent World champion fencers Enzo Lefort and Ysaora Thibus; Valérie Barois-Leroux; Olena Gladyr Khomrova; and many sports stars, such as the famous show jumping rider, Olympic and World champion Pierre Durand; Ladji Doucouré, the former 110m hurdles World champion; the Olympic vice-champion and double freestyle skiing world champion Tess Ledeux; who won the Big Air at the X Games last January, as well as the Olympic medalist and world champion Kevin Rolland.

Sportel Awards 2022 will feature a star-studded lineup of rare eclecticism, with numerous champions in all disciplines, from athletics to basketball, soccer, snowboarding, judo, freediving, rugby, and ju-jitsu, among others.
