Sportel Awards unveils this year's list of laureates

The award ceremony featured a panel of judges chaired by MMA legend Georges St-Pierre, and composed of Arthur Bauchet, Robert Colle, Stéphane Le Goff, Eliaquim Mangala, Michael Payne, Sarah Ourahmoune and Philippe Sella.

This year's Sportel awards concluded with the traditional Awards Ceremony held on Monday, 24 October in the Prince Pierre Room of the Grimaldi Forum Monaco. "We wanted to honor champions of all categories, Olympic and Paralympic medallists, World and European champions, men and women who are examples of courage and whose careers command respect and admiration. Our vocation is more than ever based on the diversity of the sports represented," Loris Menoni, Executive Director of Sportel Awards, said.

Over two days, the jury, chaired by MMA legend Georges St-Pierre, and composed of Arthur Bauchet, Robert Colle, Stéphane Le Goff, Eliaquim Mangala, Michael Payne, Sarah Ourahmoune and Philippe Sella, analyzed what were considered to be the most prominent sports sequences and the sports books of the year.

On the evening of the 24th, the event featured numerous champions at the Georges Bertellotti Golden Podiums to the 2022 laureates. In addition, the Renaud de Laborderie Book Prize, which rewards the illustrated work honoring sports photography, was awarded to "L'oeil du sport", L'Équipe - Solar, France. At the end of this memorable evening, Mr. Pierre Casiraghi and Georges St-Pierre presented the Jury Special Prize to Thomas Gonçalves for his report, (Wo)man Power by Puzzle Media.

Sportel Awards 2022 featured a very eclectic edition with a rich program: red carpet, photocalls, screenings, autograph sessions and encounters in Monegasque sports clubs to give the fans the opportunity to experience unique moments with their champions.
