From November 16 to 19, a new edition of the MIP Cancun convention will take place at the Moon Palace Resort hotel in the Mexican city. After an entirely online edition in 2020, the market returns to its traditional venue as an in-person event to offer a unique experience of pre-scheduled 1-on-1 meetings with international content distributors and TV buyers from the Latin American and US Hipanic markets.

Designed to connect with television industry leaders and inspire, the 2021 edition of MIP Cancun will feature exclusive conferences, keynotes, and panels focused on Latin American and US Hipanic topics. Marcelo Tamburri (WarnerMedia Latin America), Juan Ponce (Telemundo), Fidela Navarro (Dopamine), Sandra Smester (TV Azteca), and Marie Leguizamo (Banijay) are just a few of the top executives that will deliver keynotes during the event.

MIP Cancun will also offer accurate and relevant data on the current market. Attendees will get to master the new world order with cutting-edge market analysis and insights on content consumption, production, and platform proliferation trends, provided by Daniel Punt, Senior Managing Director at FTI Consulting, and Caroline Servy, Managing Director at The Wit.

TV Azteca, Globo, Amazon, Movistar, HBO, Latina, A+E Networks, Unitel, Megamedia, TVN, Canal 13, RCN, Teleamazonas, Ecuavisa, WarnerMedia, Huawei, Star Media, HITN, Olympusat, and ViacomCBS are just a few of the companies that will attend MIP Cancun. To see the full list, click here.

Networking and entertainment events will also be a very important part of the market, as the industry celebrate this long-awaited return to in-person markets. Ahead of the official opening of MIP Cancun there will be “Pre-Opening Drinks”. The next day, there will be an opening party, and the celebration will not stop until the “Final Fiesta,” to be held on the last night of the event.

Since the pandemic is not over yet, the organizers, host city authorities and specialist medical advisors are working to build a coherent and consistent programme of advanced measures to ensure MIP Cancun has health and safety as its number one priority. All delegates and people with whom they are sharing a room must take an antigen test prior to accessing MIP Cancun on Tuesday, November 16, or afterwards. This test is mandatory and a negative result is required to access the market.
