KEN LORBER: “WE ARE STILL RECORDING IN MIAMI”

The President and CEO at The Kitchen International explained that the studio takes extraordinary sanitizing measures and tries to minimize the density of people in all their facilities.

One of the trends in the middle of the global COVID-19 pandemic is the increase of the dubbing content and for that reason, The Kitchen decided to maintain normal operations in all its studio locations but following all the protocols issued by the WHO (World Health Organization), as well as local, state and federal governments.

We are still recording in Miami and we are going through extraordinary sanitizing measures every day. We hired a full time cleaning person who disinfects every recording studio after each actor has gone into record,” affirmed Ken Lorber, President and CEO at The Kitchen International to Señal News.

Regarding the international studios of The Kitchen, the company has published a chart in its webpage that shows exactly what is the status in each one of the locations. "Everybody who works in an office situation (administrators and sales) is working at home and we are trying to minimize the density of people in our facilities”, explained.

Lorber also detailed how The Kitchen is working with its actors nowadays.  “As we are losing actors we are establishing a network of in-home recording capabilities, now a good number of our actors already have their own studios,” said. “It’s a very dramatic period for everyone, and we are all doing everything that we can, primarily to keep our people safe but also to be able to continue to deliver to our clients.”, highlighted.

To Stay Tuned with all the international studios that The Kitchen has all around the world, language translation, dubbing, and subtitling studio is using Zoom quite a bit. “We are doing meetings with all our studios,” asserted the CEO of the company.  "It’s such a unique time, the rules that we used to live by are very different from the rules that we are living today,” opined.

In his view, the current circumstances forced the company to become closer to its competitors than any time before. “People are a lot more open and willing to assist,” said.

For Lorber, there will be changes in the industry but “we are learning how to adapt to that and that would very well live beyond this crisis,” he concluded.
