Screen Australia’s 33rd annual Drama Report released today shows the second highest expenditure ever on scripted screen production in Australia, with $2.34 billion spent across a record 213 titles in 2022/23.
Led by COO and managing director Benn Ellard, the company will be responsible for the delivery of White Spark Pictures’ game-changing, patent-pending Surround Sync technology to cinemas and other venues around the world.
The executive will formally commence as CEO from 8 January 2024, taking over the reins from Graeme Mason, who is departing the agency in early November after a decade in the role.
The BBC acquired the show from Abacus Media Rights, who have international distribution rights for the series. Easy Tiger produced it for Stan Australia and the Nine Network.
This new funding will be shared by 29 feature films, 13 television dramas, four online projects and one VR project. Included in this slate are 28 projects that have been supported through the Generate Fund and 19 through the Premium Fund.
