Los Angeles-based TGC Global Entertainment has appointed Carolina Sofia den Baas as sales and acquisitions executive for Central & Eastern Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. The move comes as the company, led by veteran format creator Phil Gurin, ramps up international activity ahead of Mipcom 2025.

Phil Gurin, founder and CEO of TGC GE, commented, “Having Carolina join our team makes me so happy. She is super knowledgeable about the market and is a consummate professional. Reuniting after all these years brings a smile to my face, and I know all of our clients in CEE, Australia, and New Zealand will have a great time learning about our great formats and collaborating on deals with such a star.”

Den Baas brings over two decades of experience in global content distribution across linear, digital, and ad-funded platforms. She spent nearly ten years at eOne Television International, where she expanded the CEE market by over 200% in her first year and ultimately served as Vice President. Prior to eOne, she held senior sales roles at DRG (MTG) and Zeal TV, where she was instrumental in licensing “The Singing Bee” across Latin America, Spain, and the Middle East. She also successfully sold out the company’s catalogue in Iberia and brokered format commissions from Channel 4 International’s lineup.

Reflecting on her new role, den Baas said, “It’s an absolute thrill to be back working with Phil. Over the years, we shared some of those perfect career moments where we struck gold with getting some truly iconic formats on air. This opportunity puts me right back at the centre of my original passion: the creative and diverse world of formats. What a time to be on board—just before a huge market for us with our biggest slate ever. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”

Den Baas joins a growing team of regional sales agents. Cecilia Ingebrigtsen recently secured a deal for “Do You Trust Me?” with Topanga Crea in Spain, while Roxanne Pompa closed deals for “Fridge Wars” with Comarex in Mexico and Peru and acquired Nigerian financial literacy gameshow “Big Family Dream” from Bafot Studios.

TGC GE has been actively expanding its catalogue in the lead-up to Mipcom. Among its newest additions is the international reality competition format “Code Red: The Lighthouse,” acquired from Norwegian public broadcaster NRK.
