Keshet 12’s new crime drama “Line in the Sand,” from the director of the award-winning Israeli drama “Fauda,” has premiered to record ratings and rave reviews in Israel. The first two episodes of the show debuted on Keshet 12 on Monday, leading primetime convincingly with 617,000 viewers and a 21.5% rating, while securing viewing shares of 29.6% and 25.2%, respectively. Therefore, “Line in the Sand” became the channel's highest rating original drama since it launched in 2017.
Described by Yalla as “exceptionally enthralling” and featuring “excellent performances,” “Line in the Sand” (8x60’) is a cautionary tale of obsession, sacrifice and how one man's quest for justice shifts his moral compass to the extent he loses his own sense of self.
Set 15 years ago on Israel's golden coast and inspired by real events, “Line in the Sand” stars Tshai Halevi as Alon, an idealistic and morally unshakable police detective who leaves behind a high-flying career to return to his hometown. Finding a city in turmoil and the residents in the iron grip of tyranny, Alon is forced to engage the crime lord on his terms and become the very thing he despises. As the tense stand-off escalates, Alon is left asking himself where the line between right and wrong lies.
Co-created by Rotem Shamir and Yuval Yefet, the drama is produced for Keshet 12 by Koda Communications. Keshet International will officially launch the series at their virtual Spring Preview event on March 8, as part of the London TV Screenings.
“We are so thrilled that this series has landed so well with viewers and the media here in Israel. The heritage and creativity of the talent involved - both behind and in front of the cameras – is so strong that we can’t wait to introduce ‘Line in the Sand’ to our international clients at our March event," said Keren Shahar, President of Distribution and COO of Keshet International.
