Expected frontrunners in this year’s field include defending champion Egan Bernal (INEOS Grenadiers) of Colombia, last year’s Vuelta an España winner Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma), Julian Alaphilippe (Deceuninck – Quick Step), who wore the yellow jersey for the majority of last year’s Tour, and 25-year old American Sepp Kuss (Jumbo-Visma), who is making his Tour de France debut this year. Sprinters expected to compete include Caleb Ewan (Lotto-Soudal), Peter Sagan (Bora-Hansgrohe), Elia Viviani (Cofidis), and Sam Bennett (Deceuninck-Quick-Step).
