Viaplay unveils its latest Danish original, "Call Me Dad"

The title, produced by Nordisk Film Series, is scheduled to air in 2023.

Viaplay recently revealed details about its next Danish Viaplay Original, the comedy-drama "Call Me Dad." The title is scheduled to air in 2023. “My vision is to create a contemporary comedy that exudes visual and narrative richness,"  Director Christian Dyekjær said. "The show will entertain while exploring topics such as how we treat each other and our world today. It’s a pleasure to work with two of the best acting talents of their generation, and Viaplay viewers can look forward to a very modern show with a remarkably strong supporting cast.”

Produced by Nordisk Film Series, written by Søren Felbo and directed by Dyekjær,the six-part show stars local actors, Alex Høgh Andersen, Magnus Haugaard and Ellen Hillingsø. Other members of the cast includes Roberta Reichhardt, Johanne Milland, Søren Sætter-Lassen, Peter Gantzler, Lone Rødbro, Bjarne Henriksen, Lila Nobel, Oscar Dyekjær Giese and Tommy Kenter all feature in the series, which has recently completed filming in Copenhagen.

"Call Me Dad" is produced by Trin Hjortkjær Thomsen and Laura Frederikke Kragholm at Nordisk Film Series, with Dorte Fuglsang as executive producer for Viaplay. Global sales are handled by Viaplay Content Distribution.

Emil and Viktor are lifelong friends and now partners in a catering company.
