Autentic Distribution closes global sales for its documentaries and factual series

The titles were bought by SBS for Australia; NHK for Japan; RÚV Island; PBS UK; SRF for Switzerland, Radio-Canada; TG4 for Ireland; Finland’s YLE and RTVE for Spain among others.

Autentic Distribution has recently secured deals for new MIPTV titles and their existing line-up of top-notch documentaries and factual series. SBS has picked up 14 hours of factual programming from the Munich-based Distributor. The Australian broadcaster pre-bought the upcoming history series “A Cold War of Spies” (4×50') which was also presented at the MIPDOC International Buyers Screenings in Cannes. Other titles of this deal include “World’s Most Punctual Train – Japan’s Shinkansen” (2×45') and “Love & Dolce Vita – History of the Amalfi Coast” (45').

After German channel n-tv pre-bought the Ukrainian documentary “Against All Odds” (55'), Autentic Distribution has now sold the current affairs title to NHK in a package deal with two wildlife programmes as well as to RÚV Island. RÚV also signed a deal for a second Ukrainian production, “Mariupol. UnLost Hope” (52'), which has also been acquired by PBS UK.

Autentic Distribution also inked several package deals for blue chip wildlife productions. The Swiss broadcasting company SRF signed a deal for six titles by Terra Mater Studios, including “Wondrous & Wild” (50') and “Miami Wild” (50'). Canada's national public broadcaster Radio-Canada acquired “Secrets in the Scat” (50') while “Canada - Surviving the Wild North” (50') finds a new home at the Irish television network TG4 and Finland’s YLE. Spain’s RTVE inked a deal for six nature and people & places titles, including “Once Upon a Time in Tsavo” (2x52') and “Tasmania – Weird And Wonderful” (52').

Viasat also purchased a 13-hour wildlife package including “Grasslands: North America's Hidden Wilderness” (50') by Terra Mater Studios, “White Winter – A Season on the Northern Alpine Rim” (52') by Nautilus film and “In Search Of Snow Leopards: Chasing Shadows” (2×52') by Bedi Film.

After acquiring series “Berlin 1945” (3×52') previously, the BBC has now signed a deal to also acquire “Berlin 1933 – Diary of a Metropolis” (3×52') produced by zero one. Czech Television picked up the history documentary series as well, together with seven nature titles, including “American Ocelot” (50') and “Great Lakes Untamed” (3x50').

Swedish national public television broadcaster SVT acquired award-winning “Music under the Swastika – The Maestro” and the “Cellist of Auschwitz” (52', 90') as well as “Wanted – The World’s Most Dangerous Arms Dealer” (90') by Frederik Obermaier and Bastian Obermayer and Philipp Grüll. CH Media also signed a deal for this investigative documentary and have additionally acquired season 2 and 3 of “What Went Wrong” (6×45', 6×52').

Asharq News acquired Terra Mater Studio’s science documentary “Star Chasers of Senegal” (50') and “Colossal Machines II” (6×45'). The science series’ second season explores even more spectacular machines and their fascinating inner workings, and has also been picked up by the Korean broadcaster EBS.
