BBC Studios Brands and Licensing has announced the promotion of Suzy Raia to Executive Vice President, Global Consumer Products, reflecting the company’s continued investment in its global brands and commercial growth strategy. In her role, Suzy will lead the global consumer products business, overseeing brand partnerships, retail development, and product innovation across BBC Studios’ portfolio, including “Bluey,” “Doctor Who,” and “BBC Earth.” She will continue to report directly to Nicki Sheard, CEO of Brands and Licensing, and remain based in New York.

Nicki Sheard, CEO of Brands and Licensing at BBC Studios, said: “Show to Shelf is central to how we grow our brands globally — it’s about making the magic audiences see on screen part of their everyday lives, and Suzy has been pivotal in championing that philosophy. Her ability to understand what fans want and turn that into meaningful consumer experiences ensures our IP resonates far beyond the screen. She is helping us build ecosystems where fandom can truly flourish.”

Suzy Raia added: “I continue to be grateful for being surrounded by a world-class team as we take ‘Bluey’ to the next level and bring audiences the most epic moment yet — the Movie! I’m looking forward to not only the future of ‘Bluey’ but the future of BBC Studios as we continue to build out our brand portfolio and maximize the capability we’ve built globally.”

Suzy’s promotion follows a period of significant transformation for BBC Studios’ Brands and Licensing division, which was restructured in 2024 to unify global operations and accelerate brand expansion across key markets.

BBC Studios Brands and Licensing is the driving force in extending BBC Studios IP through innovative brand extensions, fostering deep fan engagement worldwide. The division identifies new opportunities for growth across consumer products, live entertainment, gaming, publishing, and digital, spanning a global slate that includes “Bluey,” “Doctor Who,” “Strictly Come Dancing/Dancing with the Stars,” “Top Gear,” and “BBC Earth.”

Under her leadership as SVP, Suzy played a pivotal role in driving the success of “Bluey” globally, forging strategic partnerships with licensees and retailers, and expanding the brand’s presence across categories and platforms. Suzy brings over 25 years of experience in consumer products and brand management, including nearly two decades at Nickelodeon, where she worked on hit franchises such as “SpongeBob,” “Dora the Explorer,” “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,” and “Paw Patrol.”

Industry recognition for “Bluey” includes the 2025 Toy of the Year Award for “License of the Year,” the 2024 Licensing International Excellence Award for “Best Brand – Animated,” and the 2024 TAGIE Award for “Most Innovative License,” earned alongside master toy partner Moose Toys.

This appointment underscores BBC Studios’ commitment to delivering long-term value through fan-first strategies, innovative partnerships, and a dynamic global ecosystem, which now includes a new eCommerce proposition — a fandom-first destination designed to celebrate and bring fans even closer to the characters, stories, and worlds they love.

BBC Studios is a global media company that creates, distributes, and nurtures some of the world’s most iconic brands. It is the co-commissioner, distributor, and licensor of the multi-award-winning animated series “Bluey.” Available in over 140 markets, “Bluey” continues to be a global phenomenon and will make its feature-length debut in cinemas on August 6, 2027.
