BBC unveiled the cast for "The Cleaner" third season

The title is produced by SHUK (Studio Hamburg UK) for BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The show was commissioned by Jon Petrie, Director of Comedy for the BBC.

"The Cleaner", UK’s beloved crime scene series returns featuring a fresh lineup of guest stars.Joining Greg Davies as Paul ‘Wicky’ Wickstead is Steve Pemberton ("Inside No 9"), Sharon Rooney ("Barbie"), Ben Willbond ("Ghosts"), and Conleth Hill ("Game of Thrones").

The executive producer is Vivien Muller-Rommel and the producer is Sam Ward. The director is Tom Marshall and the casting director is Tracey Gillham. The commissioning editors for the BBC are Ben Caudell and Navi Lamba. BBC Studios will distribute the series globally, excluding German language markets. "The Cleaner" Series 1 and 2 is available on BBC iPlayer, and on BritBox International in Australia, North America and The Nordics.

Written by and starring Greg Davies, The Cleaner follows Paul ‘Wicky’ Wickstead, a state-certified cleaning technician with a very special field of work - he is a crime-scene cleaner responsible for the removal of any signs of death.Armed with chemicals, scrubbing brushes and cleaning rags, Wicky removes the gruesome mess at the scene of the crime. When carrying out his duties, he stumbles across the strangest of people, from the victims’ relatives, employers, neighbours and acquaintances to occasionally even the murderers themselves. The title is based on the multi award-winning, long-running German comedy series Der Tatortreiniger ("Crime Scene Cleaner") created by Ingrid Lausund. "The Cleaner" series 3 cast will also include: Chaneil Kular ("Sex Education"), Derek Griffiths ("Unforgotten"), Gemma Whelan ("Killing Eve"), Harry Peacock ("Toast of London"), Paula Wilcox ("Coronation Street"), Philippa Dunne ("Motherland"), Rebekah Staton ("Doctor Who"), Rosie Cavaliero (The Power of Parker), Sheila Reid ("Benidorm"), Sophia Dall’Aglio ("So Awkward"), Vicki Pepperdine ("Getting On"), Viraj Juneja (2Horrible Histories"), and Zita Sattar returning in her role as PS Ruth Edwards.

Jon Petrie, Director of Comedy for the BBC, considered the new season as a big bet on comedy.: "We couldn't be happier to introduce our fantastic cast for the upcoming season of 'The Cleaner'. Greg and SHUK have done a terrific job finding some top comedy talent for Wicky to bounce off, figuratively speaking," noted.

Finally, Vivien Muller-Rommel, SHUK (Studio Hamburg UK), highlighted the ambition of the series: “We’re immensely proud to be back, especially with the best of British comedy joining us on screen. Season 3 is hugely ambitious. In fact, we have so many cast members this time around that you really have to look for the tall, big guy to make sure he’s still in it," commented.
