Danish production labels Blu and Strong Production have officially completed their integration under a single brand: “Blu.” The merged Copenhagen-based company will continue producing high-quality content for both Danish and international markets, spanning entertainment, reality, lifestyle and factual formats. All existing shows and future commissions will be delivered under the Blu name. The move consolidates two established labels into a more streamlined and scalable production operation.

Katrine Herforth, previously CEO of Blu, will remain in her role and lead the enlarged business. Following the integration, Strong Production’s current label manager, Sune Roland, has stepped down.

According to Fremantle Northern Europe CEO Georgette Schlick, the merger had been progressing operationally since both labels were legally combined last year. “We legally merged Blu and Strong Production last year and, as a result of which both brands started working together more closely. The positive effect was not only seen by us, but importantly by our clients. It therefore made sense for us to fully integrate these brands. It will enable us to act faster, be bolder and be more efficient in delivering creative success for our clients,” she said. Schlick added her support for Herforth’s continued leadership, noting, “She has incredible drive, experience and expertise to guide Blu in its newly created form.” Schlick also thanked Roland: “Sune is a true professional and a remarkable person. It has been a great pleasure to have worked with him. I wish him the very best in his future career.”

Herforth emphasised the strategic benefits of the consolidation. “Blu and Strong Production have been successfully collaborating for a number of years, and this full integration of both labels now provides a more powerful combined talent offering, to our partners, with creativity, and innovation at our heart, whilst also delivering cost efficiency. I am extremely proud to lead the newly formed Blu going forward. I would like to thank Sune for his valued collaboration and tremendous efforts over the past years and wish him continued success for the future.”

Blu’s slate will continue to include a broad mix of successful formats. Among its key titles are “X-Factor,” “Traitors,” “Farmer Wants a Wife,” “Race Across the World,” “Hotel Romantik” and “Villa of Broken Hearts,” reflecting its diverse audience reach and longstanding relationships with broadcasters and platforms.

The unified Blu brand positions Fremantle’s Danish operations to respond more quickly to market needs, strengthen its talent pool, and simplify commissioning relationships for clients. The integration also aligns with Fremantle’s broader European strategy to enhance creative collaboration, increase production scale, and drive efficiencies across its network of labels.
