Cineflix Rights acquired the exclusive rights of global distribution for the new Canadian drama "C'est comme ça que je t'aime" ("Happily Married"), the most recent project by the talented writer-director duo François Létourneau and Jean-François Rivard, who had already worked together in the acclaimed series "Les Invincibles" and "Série Noire".
On this ambitious production, Julien Leroux, SVP of scripted productions from Cineflix Media said: “We are very proud to join François Létourneau, Jean-François Rivard, as well as the teams of Casablanca and Radio-Canada. Happily Married is such an unique series with a fascinating mix of drama, crime, personal relationships, black humor and much more. We love adding it to our content portfolio and we can't wait to show it to international audiences. ”
The series focuses on two couples in crisis, disappointed by love, friendships, and even their own families. After leaving their respective children in camp during the summer (July 1974), both couples face the harsh reality of their married lives. But in a society where divorce is frowned upon, that search for happiness leads them along a path of decisions where they end up becoming the most famous criminal quartet in Quebec's history. The drama explores the twisted motives that led a group of middle-class ordinary people to descend into a relentless life of murders and crimes.
"Happily Married" stars its writer François Létourneau, Patrice Robitaille, Marilyn Castonguay, Karine Gonthier-Hydman, and Sophie Desmarais. The premiere of this exciting story is expected to be on Radio-Canada Télé and Tou.Tv Extra during the spring of 2020.
Produced by Casablanca Productions for Radio-Canada Télé and Tou.Tv Extra. The series features the production of Joanne Forgues and Catherine Faucher. Forgues is also an executive producer with Charles Ohayon, and Jean-Marc Casanova.
