CINEFLIX RIGHTS CLOSES NEW GLOBAL DEALS FOR “CORONER”

Cineflix Rights has closed further deals for Seasons 1-3 of its global hit crime drama "Coroner" with Nine Network in Australia, Sky in the UK, Paramount+ in the Nordics, SBS in Belgium, Sky Italia, and Stöð 2 in Iceland. “With these latest international sales, 'Coroner' continues to demonstrate its enduring global appeal,”  James Durie, Head of Scripted, Cineflix Rights said. 

The agreements with Sky, Paramount+ and Stöð 2 were brokered by Sandra Piha, SVP, Sales, Pan-Regional, UK, Eire, and Scandinavia, Cineflix Rights. Chris Bluett, SVP, Sales, Asia Pacific, and Benelux closed the deals with Nine Network and SBS, and the deal with Sky Italia was closed by Charo Penedo, Sales Consultant France, Italy, and Iberia.

The distributor has also acquired the global rights to Season 4 of the CBC original series which was recently greenlit.The show is a huge international success, already airing in more than 150 territories on networks and platforms including The CW Network in the US, Sky Witness in the UK, Globo in Brazil, and NBCUniversal International Networks. “We are thrilled to add Season 4 to our growing scripted slate, especially since we already have a lot of interest from buyers whose viewers are keen to continue following the stories of such well-written characters,” Durie said. 

Inspired by the best-selling series of books by M.R. Hall, "Coroner," the three seasons, consisting of over four networks for debut, the show delivers a character-driven, procedural series about Dr. Jenny Coopera, recently widowed, newly appointed coroner who investigates suspicious, unnatural, and sudden deaths in Toronto.
