Cineflix Rights has partnered with Canadian producer Go Button Media (GBM) to co-finance and produce 60 hours of unscripted content in the history and science genres over the next three years. Super Channel will return as GBM’s Canadian domestic partner.

Cineflix Rights and Go Button Media have previously partnered on “Secret Nazi Science” and “Secret Nazi Expeditions”, with the distributor securing sales with multiple broadcasters worldwide. The new deal forms part of Cineflix Rights’ increasing investment in Canada’s independent production sector, following recent pacts to help finance and greenlight series such as “Ancient Bodies: Secrets Revealed” from Farpoint Films and “Mysterious Islands” from Shark Teeth Films, both also airing on Super Channel.

Felicia Litovitz, VP, Acquisitions, North America, Cineflix Rights said: “Go Button Media has a great track record of creating and delivering high quality content with strong international appeal—which is reflected in the success of series such as ‘Secret Nazi Science’ and ‘Secret Nazi Expeditions’ with our global buyers. We’re thrilled to be expanding our partnership with this deal and to already have several projects in development which we’re confident will have the same wide-reaching demand.”

Daniel Oron, co-founder and executive producer at Go Button Media commented: “Our relationship with Cineflix Rights has been incredibly successful. The team there has not only fantastic distribution capability, but they’re also wonderfully creative and collaborative. We’re looking forward to expanding our relationship with this deal and working together to ensure that our upcoming projects are created and produced in a way that maximizes their international potential. As well, we are excited to continue our flourishing partnership with Super Channel who have been an integral and vibrant part of Go Button Media’s continued growth.”

Don McDonald, President & CEO, Super Channel added: “We are excited to continue to expand on our successful partnership with Go Button Media and to collaborate on another slate of high-quality factual series to bring to our viewers. We are certain these compelling series are going to resonate with audiences here in Canada and around the world.”

Other recent examples of Cineflix Rights’ successful strategy of providing innovative funding models to help producers worldwide bridge financing gaps and get their projects greenlit and into production include joining forces with U.S. producer Law&Crime Productions on true crime series including “Murder Uncut”, “Killer Cases”, and “Cult Justice”.
